Nigerian Government Break Off Negotiations With Striking University Professors, Claims ASUU Has Been Infiltrated By Opposition Politicians

The Nigerian Government has decided to break off negotiation with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over what it called the infiltration of the union by the opposition to discredit the government.
It was gathered that as the committee set up by the Nigerian government to negotiate with the union gave a verdict of non-compromise on the part of the union and 'security report' of the infiltration of the opposition, it decided to break the negotiation.
It was revealed that the committee had reported to the government that the union had remained 'rigid and unbending' to suggestions on how to agree on some of the issues it was agitating for so as to end the strike which had entered its ninth week.
The committee had told the government that the union leaders were arrogant and selfish as their interest was paramount to that of their students who had been at home all this while.
The government after the report told the committee members that it had fresh security report that the union's stance on the lingering crisis in the education sector was as a result of the opposition's infiltration into the union.
It said the opposition wants to portray the government as irrational and uncaring to the plight of the lecturers and their students as well as present the government in bad light to Nigerians and the international community.
The government in breaking the negotiation has decided to fund individual student's education as it is done in advanced countries.
As a way of making nonsense of the industrial action by ASUU, it was gathered that the government plans to introduce loans to the students throughout their period in the university so as to cushion the effect of the financial hardship on the students.
The government expects the students to re-pay the loans after graduation provided they get jobs of their choice. It however could not be ascertained how the loan to the students would compel the lecturers to call off the strike.
The National President of ASUU, Dr. Nasir Fagee, had last week during a press conference at the University of Lagos, Nigeria said the union had pulled out of the negotiation between the union and the Nigerian government citing insincerity as reason for its decision, adding that the union would not call off its strike until the agreement the government signed with the union in 2009 is honoured.

ASUU Strike: Undergraduate Shot Dead By Bandits

Folajomi Agunbiade, a 24-year old undergraduate student at Ondo State University, Akungba-Akoko, was shot dead on Thursday, August 22 by armed robbers who were infuriated that she began to pray in tongues as they robbed her family.
Around 9 p.m., two armed robbers stormed the Agunbiade residence located in the Alasia-Amosun area of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
A family source said the armed bandits, who reeked of alcohol, took away six cell phones that were being charged at the time. The source added that neighbors were unaware of the robbers’ attack because the family’s noisy power generator was running at the time.

The source told SaharaReporters that one of the robbers demanded cash from the student’s grandmother, but the other robber asked him to leave the woman alone as they had earlier collected about N20,000 from her.
A police source stated that the robbers ransacked the house and stole cash as well as such valuables as mobile phones. At one point, said the source, one of the robbers threatened to shoot Folajomi’s elder sister.
All through the assault, Ms. Folajomi Agunbiade was praying and speaking in tongues. This reportedly angered one of the robbers who aimed the gun at her and shot. A source said she cried “Jesus!” before she fell and died.
A family source disclosed that the robbery ironically took place on the day the deceased’s elder sister ended a three-day fast to ward off any untimely death based on a revelation she had been given.
SaharaReporters learnt that the two sisters were living with their grandmother and a care giver. Ms. Folajomi was at home due to the on-going strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). The strike has kept students at home for close to two months.
The family reportedly called the police at 9.45 p.m., after the armed robbers left. A police source said officers were immediately sent to the assaulted home after the distress call was received.
After the robbery, the two-man gang locked their victims inside the house and went away with the key. Neighbors were alerted by the cries of the occupants.
One source said the armed robbers even walked past some of the residents of the area who even greeted them without knowing they were armed robbers.
According to the source, “The sister of the deceased said that the two armed robbers came with locally made guns. She said they started banging their fists on the door and, when the door was opened, they saw that the intruders were armed robbers.”
The source disclosed that the mother of the two sisters lives abroad while their father is based in Ondo State.

Gov. Suntai Sends Letter To House Of Assembly Asking To Resume As Governor

Governor Danba Suntai emerging from a chartered private jet at the Abuja airport yesterday
By SaharaReporters, New York
A letter purportedly signed by the ailing governor of Taraba State, Danbaba Suntai, seeking to resume his office, was today received by the Speaker of the House of Assembly.

Mr. Suntai, who suffered serious brain injury in an air crash in Nigeria in October last year, was flown back from the United States yesterday by a cabal desperate to maintain control of political power in the state despite the governor’s evident incapacitation.  Doctors in the United States have said it is unlikely he will recover sufficiently to lead a normal life.

Upon his return yesterday, he appeared confused and was repeatedly being helped around by a circle of officials.  Neither in Abuja, at the airport in Jalingo nor at the Governors’s Lodge did he utter a word for, against or about anything.  SaharaReporters has consistently reported on his near-vegetative state and inability to function normally.

In the letter to the Assembly, sources say the governor claims that he has fully recovered from his injuries. The letter is being treated with derision by officials of the state who have so far been prevented from seeing or hearing from him 24 hours after his return.

Meanwhile, Hajiya Hauwa, the wife of Mr. Suntai who is known to be coordinating the political hoax about her husband, told security chiefs who tried to visit him at home yesterday that he needed to observe bed rest for at least 72 hours.

The purported letter is apparently the handiwork of Mrs. Hauwa and several of his aides who are hell bent on creating a political crisis in the state that would enable President Goodluck Jonathan to declare a state of emergency there.

Taraba State has a high number of Christians as well as Muslims, and Mr. Suntai’s condition is being used by his supporters to whip up religious sentiments that would likely provoke a crisis.  The governor’s supporters seem determined not to let the deputy governor, a Muslim, assume power despite the governor’s incapacitation.

Meanwhile, the House of Assembly has said it would invite Mr. Suntai to come before the assembly and address them regarding his health and plans to resume work.

A legislative source in the state said the House will be meeting to consider Mr. Suntai’s letter any moment from now.

OPC Man Mistakenly Kills Popular Alhaji While Praising Him With aGun Salute

 OPC 1
The Lagos State Police Command have commenced investigations into the murder of a 72-year-old man, Alhaji Abdulkareem Kadiru, in the Ijora Badia area of Lagos.
According to police, the victim was killed in error by an Oodua Peoples Congress member, Ismaila Rahmon, who was in charge of security at a school where a Ramadan event took place. Rahman allegedly killed the Alhaji with a gun he seized from an armed robber but failed to turn it over to the police.
It was gathered that Alhaji Kadiru was a generous man and because of his nature, touts usually surrounded him and sang his praises so that he would give them money.
Punch learnt that on August 4, 2013, Rahmon and another OPC member, identified simply as Obasanjo, had gone to provide security for the victim and other dignitaries at the event.
Rahmon was said to have opened fire in a bid to disperse the touts. It was learnt that after the hoodlums fled, the suspect started hailing Kadiru, shouting Tuale!! (a local slang to show respect).
He allegedly shot into the air again to salute the Alhaji. The bullet, however, killed Kadiru in error.
The 30-year-old OPC man said, “I sell shirts at Oluwole and I am also a part-time Yoruba movie actor. I have starred in three films but I do not get paid because I am an apprentice. In order to make ends meet, I joined the OPC and I earn N12,000 a month.
“On the day Alhaji was killed, Obasanjo and I went to a secondary school in the area to provide security for influential personalities who came there for Ramadan benevolence programme where they donated items to members of the community.
“When Alhaji arrived, I escorted his vehicle into the compound and touts stormed the school in order to extort money from him. I had been told that area boys would come so I came to the school with a gun. When I attempted to disperse the hoodlums and they refused to go, I shot into the air. I also attempted to give Tuale (salute) to Alhaji with another gunshot because I wanted him to give me money. It was in the process that the bullet hit him in his head.”
The native of Kwara State said after Alhaji fell to the ground, area boys gathered and beat him up. The area boys would have lynched him if not for the timely intervention of policemen.
“The area boys beat me up and collected all the money on me which was about N20,000. They seized my phone, kicked me in the penis many times and inflicted wounds on my head. It was the police that saved me from death. The policemen that came arrested me and took me to their station,” he said.
When asked if he was licensed and trained to use a weapon, the suspect said, “I was trained by OPC to use weapons. But I have never used a gun publicly before the incident. The gun did not belong to me; it belonged to an armed robber that I arrested some months ago.”
The suspect, who claimed to be the breadwinner of his family, pleaded with the police to let him go as he did not kill the victim deliberately.

PHUCK!! Actor Wentworth Miller Comes out as Gay

Screen Shot 2013-08-22 at 9.27.29 AM
Damn! Who would have thunk it? Anyone surprised he’s gay? Wentworth, who played the lead character Michael Scofield in Prison Break came out as a gay man yesterday August 21 via an open letter to the Saint Petersburg Film Festival, rejecting an invitation to attend a premiere there because of Russia’s recently-passed anti-gay laws.
The  41-year-old actor wrote:
Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as a gay man, I must decline.
I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government. The situation is in no way acceptable, and I cannot in good conscience participate in a celebratory occasion hosted by a country where people like myself are being systematically denied their basic right to live and love openly.
Perhaps, when and if circumstances improve, I’ll be free to make a different choice.
Until then.

70-Year Old man inserts steel kitchen fork into his P*nis during Masturbation

Oh my days! Seriously. Doctors have removed a 10cm long steel fork inside a man’s penis, after a sexual adventure went horribly wrong. The 70-year-old visited Canberra Hospital’s emergency department complaining of bleeding genitalia.

He then promptly admitted that he had inserted a piece of cutlery into his urethra in an attempt to satisfy himself. Unfortunately the attempt backfired and it became stuck, leaving him in considerable pain before rushing to the hospital.

Doctors say the practice tends to occur 'during states of pathological masturbation, substance abuse and intoxication'. Wow, short of words!

Ondo State Police Command To Compensate Family Of Slain Driver

The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) will take responsibility for the gruesome killing of a truck driver identified as Mr. Friday Igbinedion and compensate his family.
Igbinedion, a member of the National Union of Petrol and Natural Gas Employees (NUPENG), was killed by a detachment of six police officers in Ore, on his was to Warri en route the Lagos-Ore expressway, Ondo State, last Wednesday.
According to a source in the state command, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Patrick Dukumor, in a meeting with officials of NUPENG at the command's headquarters in Akure, agreed to compensate Igbinedion's family.
The source said the meeting lasted for several hours, adding that it was held behind closed doors with leaders of the union from Ondo and Delta States in attendance.
He said one of the six police officers alleged to have shot Igbinedion, and had been detained at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the command had confessed committing the crime.
"One of the police officers has confessed to the crime during the course of our investigation. Although, he said it was not intentional but said he was shot dead due to his stubbornness. The gun that was used is also in our custody," he said.
The deceased was driving from Lagos to Warri, Delta State en-route the Lagos-Ore-Benin express way to deliver petrol (PMS) when he was shot dead by policemen patrolling the road. The policemen after killing Igbinedion had set his truck ablaze.
Confirming NUPENG's meeting with the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, the union's Chairman in Delta State, Comrade Ochuko, in a telephone chat, said the rationale behind the meeting was to ensure that the command compensates the family of the deceased.
According to him, "We are not happy over this issue at all. We condemn it in strong terms and demand a wide broadcast apology from the Ondo State Police Command. As I speak now, we have taken over the matter to ensure justice is done and recovery of all losses incurred and adequate compensation to the family of the deceased driver."
The NUPENG boss also described the killing of their colleague has 'barbaric and unacceptable', saying the command should endeavor to train its officers on how best to relate with civilians and given proper orientation on how to handle guns.
When asked if legal action would be taken against the police by the union, Ochuko declined comment, but said the union officials were preparing to meet with the families of the deceased, adding that the union could not take any unilateral decision until such a meeting takes place.
He enjoined all members of the union in the state to go about their normal duties while investigation into the killing is still ongoing.
All efforts to get the reaction of the command's Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Wole Ogodo, proved abortive as his mobile phone was switched off.

Lee Thompson Young's behaviour changed after embracing Yoruba?

Actor Lee Thompson Young committed suicide in his apartment yesterday by shooting himself, now E online is reporting that the actor's behavior changed after he 'began practicing Yoruba'. What the heck are these people saying? When did Yoruba become a religion? Read the report below...

From E online.com
"The Rizzoli & Isles star, who was 29 at the time of his death, "didn't drink or party," says a source, adding,  "He was the opposite. Lee loved to travel and was always the first to tell everyone to take a breath and enjoy the beauty of life." He was always "gentle and unassuming," despite his early success, and didn't have the typical "look-at-me" attitude.
That said, those close to Young noticed things "really changed" a few years ago when he began practicing Yorùbá, an Africa-based religion which has a saying, "iku ya j'esin", meaning  "death is preferable to ignominy." Some have questioned whether this means that suicide is an acceptable way to preserve personal or family honor in the face of public shame.
However, Yorùbá culture icon and Chief Priest of Osogbo, Araba Ifayemi Osundagbonu Elebuibon, told the National Mirror earlier this year that the religion "[does] not support suicide. Their belief is that if somebody commits suicide, they will be punished in the hereafter."

The Famous Jett Jackson star "took [his religion] to the next level and started wearing white all of the time," says a source, adding, "This religion was everything to him."  Although he reportedly took a break from practicing Yorùbá, he recently returned to the religion. Just before his death, he visited a small village in Africa for something reportedly related to the religion

Video: Toni Braxton' s Wardrope Malfunction...

Toni Braxton's dress did the world a favor and slid right off while she was performing -- exposing her voluptuous ass -- and TMZ has the glorious moment.

It went down during Toni's concert this week in New Brunswick, NJ.  In the middle of a song, Toni's ensemble -- which resembled a loin cloth dipped in glitter -- just plum fell off.

Best part ... Toni just kept singing, until a guy on stage handed her his suit jacket to cover up the goods.

Take a peek.  It's definitely worth it.

Photo : Jilted Girl Pours Hot Oil On Lover For Not Marrying Her

A 25-year-old woman, Victoria Alonge, has been sentenced to one-year in jail for pouring hot oil on her boyfriend, Roland Nna, over his refusal to marry her.
Senior Magistrate, Omolola Akindele, summarily sentenced Alonge without an option of fine after the convict admitted, yesterday, to committing the offence at a Karu Senior Magistrates’ court.
Alonge was arraigned by the police on a one-count charge of causing grievous hurt on Nna, her boyfriend, who lives in Kurudu, Abuja.
The Police Prosecutor, Corporal Paschal Njoku, had earlier told the court that Nna reported the incident at Kurudu Police Station on August 11.
Njoku said Alonge went to Nna’s house at about 4:30 a.m. on the fateful day and poured hot oil on him while he was asleep, resulting in grievous hurt to his body.
He said she was immediately arrested by the police, based on the report and confession to committing the crime before the police. But while in detention, Alonge threatened to inflict more harm on the victim.
The prosecutor urged the court to summarily punish the accused since she did not deny the charge brought against her.
In her defence, Alonge told the court that her estranged lover dated her for over four years and promised to marry her, only for him to change his mind after falling in love with another woman in Abuja.
“I did that to teach him a bitter lesson because he refused to marry me after dating me for over four years.
“He fooled me and my parents and ditched me after finding a new lover here in Abuja. I live in Lagos with my parents,” she said.

How We Stole N700m at Ikeja Airport – K Money

IN February 2012, a gang of heavily armed robbers attacked the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja.
They carted away N700 million from a bureau de change operator. Each member, including the informant, a cart pusher at the airport, got N90million, an amount that could have turned their lives around. But barely one year after that operation, Felix Sunday, a.k.a. K-Money, a native of Delta State became broke and went back to robbery.
The 32 year old man, who is currently cooling off at the Specail Anti-Robbery Sqaud, SARS, Ikeja, narrated to Vanguard how he robbed with the notorious Southwest robbery czar, Abiodun Ogunjobi, a.k.a. Godogodo and how he lavished his N90million share of the loot. Excerpts.
My name is Felix Sunday. I am a resident of Lagos State and I was a commercial bus driver. I joined my first robbery gang in 2009 and was the gang’s driver. Members of my gang then were old men and all of them are dead now.
They were killed in a robbery operation at Ajah area, but before then, a member of my gang had introduced me to Emmanuel Ehianeta, a.k.a. Arab, who is also a notorious robber. After their death I joined Arab and we began to operate together. Arab specialized in car snatching and we stole many cars at gun point. After each operation, he usually gave the car to a man who would drive it into Benin Republic to deliver to some of our buyers.
We did that for some time before we had issues. I stopped working with him because he was cheating me. He usually gave me peanuts after receiving proceeds from the cars we stole. I relocated to Ondo State and formed a new gang.
There, I had Chiboy and Okey as members and we specialized in house visiting. We robbed people of their valuables each time we visited their homes. We did that until 2011 when Chiboy was killed by the police in Ondo State. I quickly moved out of that state because the police were also looking for me. I relocated to Oyo State, where I became a commercial bus driver.
Thieves
The Ikeja airport robbery gang with their box of rifles and charms
I vowed never to return to robbery and was contented with what I was making. But there was this man who usually sent me to the prison to deliver some items to his younger brother who was locked up there.
The man was paying me very well and I was happy doing the job for him. However in one of my numerous visits to the prison, I asked his brother what brought him to the prison and he said he was arrested for robbery, I felt sorry for him and told him that I was also a robber but had quit the job because it is dangerous.
He looked at me and laughed. Thereafter he described me as a small time robber. He asked if I could ignore a big job that could fetch me a million naira. I thought about it for a while and said, I would only do it if it would make me rich and pull me out of poverty. He told me to be patient adding that he would give my number to someone who would link me to the job.
In January 2012, I got a call from a man who identified himself as OJ and he explained that he got my number from Destiny, the guy I had been seeing in prison. OJ later told me that there was a job for me at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and he would want me to come to Computer Village in Lagos, to meet other members of the gang.
When I got there I met Asiwaju, Atoba, Eso and OJ. There OJ told me that they had concluded plans to strike at the airport and the only thing they needed then were rifles for the job. I told them not to worry that I knew someone who could provide us with some rifles.
I contacted one Ore, who used to be close to Arab and asked him how to get a rifle. He told me that Arab had two AK 47 rifles given to him in Benin Republic by his receivers in exchange for some cars. I called Arab. At first he was mad at me and asked why I was calling. I told him of the job at the airport that the foreign currencies were being exported unguarded and all we needed was to steal it. He doubted me but I managed to convince him to meet other members of the gang and he was taken to the airport and shown how the monies were being exported.
Felix Sunday… wasted his N90 million robbery proceeds
By February of that year I, Atoba, Eso, Arab and Asiwaju drove to the airport around 7:pm. I was the one driving. I parked near the barbed wire and waited in the car while four of them went into the airport for the money. Arab and Eso held the Ak 47 rifles while Asiwaju held a pistol.
I was told that when they got to the spot where the money was Arab shot sporadically into the air to scare passersby and Atoba went straight for the bags containing the money. In less then 10 minutes, they were through with the operation and entered my vehicle with the money while I drove off. We escaped through Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and when we got to Ijebu-Ode we entered into a bush to share the money.
Threat to kill everyone
Before then Arab had asked Eso and Asiwaju to hand over the pistol and rifles to him so he could keep them safe from the police. But when we began to share the money Arab corked one of the rifles and threatened to kill everyone. He said he wanted to leave with the whole money but I begged him not to do so and agreed that he should take any amount he wanted as his share.
He then asked me to bring a bag and said I should load the money into it until the bag was full and I did so. After that he ordered us to share the remaining money equally among ourselves including the informant and the middle-man that brought the job. I gave Eso, Asiwaju, Atoba and myself N90million each and kept N45million for the informant and another N45 million for OJ, who was the middle-man.
Asiwaju offered to deliver the money to the informant and the middle-man. We all went our separate ways from there. The first thing I did was to contact a lawyer to help me register a company because I wanted to sell cars. The lawyer took about N500, 000 from me and also leased a land for me for about N1.6million which I used as show room. I went to Benin Republic and bought many cars which I kept in my show room. I also bought many landed property at Ijebu-Ode.
Since I was a transporter, I decided to open a transport company, I bought three Toyota Sienna space buses and took them to Maza-MazaMotorPark, where I wanted them to be used for inter-state transportation. One of the Sienna buses had an accident on it first journey and all the passengers including the driver died in the process.
Things were moving smoothly for me until the police in Oyo State stumbled on the rifles we used for the airport operation. They found it in the home of a man Arab gave them to keep. The man told the Oyo SARS operatives that I was very close to Arab so they stormed Ijebu-Ode and they started looking for me. They didn’t find it difficult locating me because my sudden wealth and business empires gave me out. They stormed my home and looted all my property and they went to my show room and took all the cars in it. I was left with no other option than to run out of the state and I relocated to Calabar, Cross River State. I lived in Calabar for about three months but life in that state was too expensive. My money was dwindling seriously and the man who was managing my transportation company stopped remitting money to me, so I decided to come to Lagos State. I went to Ikorodu, but I was very scared.
I was moving from one hotel to the other and spending too much money. A girl who was very close to me became pregnant and I decided to marry her. We didin’t even have a house of our own then and I didn’t have enough money to rent an apartment. Then I decided to sell the Toyota Corolla I was using for N1.6million and bought a Peugeot 406 for N400, 000. I used the balance to rent an apartment and furnished it. I became almost broke at that time, and then started working my phones, calling other members of my gang to ask if there was any job.
Luckily I was told that plans were on ground to rob a bank in Osun State and what they were working on was to pick a suitable date for the job. But on December 18, 2012, Asiwaju asked me to meet him at Ijebu-Ode, from where we proceeded to the bank.
My gang wasn’t the only one that was involved in that operation. Paul, an Igbo boy was also leading a gang of Igbo boys from the south east. As usual I drove my gang to the scene and we succeeded in that operation. We carted away a huge sum of money from the bank .
Since the number of men involved in that job was much, I was given just N200,000 and I took it home to my family. By January 2013, Asiwaju, called again to say there was a job in Kwara State and the operation was being coordinated by Godogodo.
We struck at two banks in that state and I got about N500,000 as my share and life began to become normal for me again. Godogodo also brought a bullion van job for us again at Ijebu-ode and we succeeded in carting away all the money in the bullion van which included foreign currencies. My share in that job was N150,000.
Godogodo and other big time robbers like Paul, Odun and others took the larger share of it. But in March 2013, Asiwaju who had three Ak47 rifles then called a meeting of all members of the gang and said we have to rob the airport again. This time we sidelined the Alhaji and OJ, and went to the MMIA ourselves to survey how the money was being moved.
Movements of the money
On Wednesday, March 13, 2013, we struck at the airport, but before we got there we encountered a little traffic on our away. Two members of our gang who we had stationed earlier to monitor the movements of the money called us and said the money was already moving and by the time we arrived at the airport, the money had been moved from the car park into the departure lounge of the airport. We shot sporadically into the air to cause panic and distraction but some policemen who were at the airport to escort some expatriates shot at us and they killed Eso.
But Asiwaju, Atoba faced them, rained bullets and killed two of them. Before we knew what was happening the money had moved beyond our reach. We couldn’t do anything, we descended on the bureau de change operators at the airport and we carted away the sum of N10 million.
That operation turned out to be my last. I went home to my family but one week later I got a call from a member of our gang, a Pastor, who prepared the charms and oath we took before the operation. He said that he needed to see me for a job. I didn’t know that he was with the police and when I came out to see him, I was arrested. I regret getting back to armed robbery and would have stuck to my vows.”

Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook Account HACKED!!!

Nothing is supposed to show up on your Facebook Wall unless it's posted by you or your friends.
So when a security researcher named Khalil Shreateh from Palestine found a bug that let him post stuff to other people's Walls, he reported it to Facebook.
That bug is a spammer's dream. To prove his bug was real, Shreateh posted something to Sarah Goodin's wall, a friend of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
He then contacted Facebook's security team with the proof that his bug was real, he explained in a lengthy blog post.
Facebook has a bounty program where it pays people to report bugs instead of using them or selling them on the black market. In this case, instead of fixing the bug and paying the researcher the $500+ fee, Facebook told him "this was not a bug," according to an email that Shreateh shared.
Shreateh says he tried a second time to warn Facebook and when that didn't work, he used the bug to post a message to Mark Zuckerberg's Wall.
The message said, "Sorry for breaking your privacy ... but a couple of days ago, I found a serious Facebook exploit" and explained that Facebook's security team wasn't taking him seriously.
Here's a photo of the message from Shreateh"

That worked and fast. Within minutes a Facebook security engineer contacted Shreateh and asked for details on how he did it, Shreateh says.
In a post on Hacker News, Matt Jones from Facebook's security team said that once the team understood the bug they acted quickly, "We fixed this bug on Thursday."
They also temporarily suspended Shreateh's account and said they wouldn't pay him the bounty fee because, by posting to Zuck's account, he violated Facebook's terms of service. Then the Facebook team asked him to continue to help them find bugs, he says.
Commenters are split on whether Facebook ripped off Shreateh or not. Facebook says that Shreateh didn't include enough technical info when he tried to report the bug. You can't just demonstrate the bug, you have to explain how it works.
On the other hand, he wouldn't have hacked Zuck's account if the security team had asked him for more details the first two times he tried to report it.
Facebook's full comment on what happened is posted on Hacker News. Here's the bit that explains why Shreateh was disqualified from payment:
"The more important issue here is with how the bug was demonstrated using the accounts of real people without their permission. Exploiting bugs to impact real users is not acceptable behavior for a white hat. We allow researchers to create test accounts here: https://www.facebook.com/whitehat/accounts/ to help facilitate responsible research and testing. In this case, the researcher used the bug he discovered to post on the timelines of multiple users without their consent."

Fresh 100 killed as Egyptian Army clears Mosque

There are unconfirmed reports that the mosque in Cairo where hundreds of anti-coup protesters were holed up had been cleared by Egyptian security forces.
Security forces had earlier opened fire at the Fateh Mosque near Ramses Square Yesterday.
Some news agencies reported that the gunfire erupted as police tried to force their way into the mosque. Hundreds of people inside have been refusing to leave for fear of being attacked by crowds of “thugs” mingling with security forces outside.
The police and military forces fired at the building after they were shot at from inside the mosque and from its minarets, a claim denied by protesters inside the mosque.
They pointed out that there was no access to the top of the minarets from inside the mosque and that an insider could not have taken up positions there to fire at security forces outside.
Eyewitnesses reported that police managed to drag several men out of the building in the confusion. Those men were then confronted with angry neighbourhood residents who attacked them with sticks and iron bars.
One man, Waleed Attar, was among a group who managed to escape the building as gunfire erupted. “We didn’t know where the bullets were coming from.”
He said they managed to flee and avoid “thugs” waiting outside. “We found our way between vehicles before the thugs could trap us, we ran for fear of being shot. Many of those trapped were being assaulted by thugs. They said we would all be slaughtered.”
There were about 700 people inside, including women and children.
Anti-coup protesters found refuge in the mosque late on Friday after a “day of rage” protests called by opponents of the country’s military-led leadership turned to bloodshed.
Reports said at least 95 people were killed in Ramses Square when security forces fired on marchers - the worst violence witnessed on Friday. The Fateh mosque was turned into both a morgue and a field hospital for those injured.
At least 173 people were killed and 1,330 others were injured nationwide on Friday, according to a government spokesman.
Friday’s marches were organized in response to police action on Wednesday to remove protesters from sit-ins calling for the return of the deposed president, Mohamed Morsi, and the end of military rule.
An estimated 600 people were killed in the operation.
Mostafa Hegazy, a political adviser for the interim presidency, said in a statement on yesterday that authorities were “facing a war launched by extremist forces” which was  “escalating every day to a terrorist war”.
He said that all indicators showed that what was happening “was not political disagreement, but a wave of violence and terrorism”.
However, the Muslim Brotherhood had called for the marches in protest against the killing of hundreds of protesters on Wednesday as police and security forces cleared sit-ins calling for the re-instatement of the deposed president, Mohamed Morsi.

Our Agenda for 2015, by PDM

. We’re not threatened — APC
The Peoples Democratic Movement (PDM) has unveiled its mission statement, following its registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) last Friday.
The new party, which has its root from late Shehu Musa Yar’adua’s PDM, has associates of the former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as members.
Pundits say the new party may pose a threat to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the newly registered All Progressives Congress (APC) that was formed by three key political parties.
But the Interim National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the PDM could not pose any threat to its mission to save Nigeria from the brink of collapse.
Mohammed, in an interview with Sunday Trust yesterday, hailed the registration of PDM, but said the new party would queue behind APC, adding that “we are sufficiently so big that we can’t be threatened by any political party in Nigeria”.
He said, “I think we welcome them into the fold. But we are not one bit threatened. You see we went into the merger with a mission and a purpose- which is to rescue Nigeria from the brink of collapse. That has not changed at all. Today, we are sufficiently so big that we can’t be threatened by any political party in Nigeria.“And why should we be threatened in any effect? Any political party that comes in now will queue up behind us. We should not be worried. Don’t forget that in politics, what decides electoral victory of political party will be those behind it, the strength of the party, the track records of its promoters and what they are going to offer Nigeria. And that is all. I think we are not lacking in any of these compartments. We welcome them to the fold; the more the merrier,” he added.
On the ongoing activities of the APC, Mohammed said “we have embarked on mass mobilization. We are preparing for registration. We have set up a task force to handle the Anambra election in November. There will be a meeting of the party on the 21st of this month (Wednesday)”.
In its mission statement which was sent via email to Sunday Trust yesterday, the PDM National Chairman, Bashir Yusuf Ibrahim, expressed the party’s readiness to find lasting solutions to the mounting social, economic and political problems in Nigeria through the institutionalization of a democratic culture that guarantees the rule of law, public accountability and the legitimacy of dissent.
Ibrahim, who was a former special assistant to Atiku and ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, also voiced the need to come to terms with the problem of evolving a durable civic culture that believes in the dignity and autonomy of the human person and his individual rights.
He said such civic culture must not only be the one that promotes trust, tolerance, consensus through accommodation and compromise, equity and justice, but also that engenders a public spirit and a positive commitment to people as legitimate partners in national development.
He said the mission statement of the PDM believed that for any social order to be viable and enduring, it must ensure the promotion of national unity by reducing social tension, mistrust, ethnic marginalization, religious intolerance and nepotism.
“Based on the principles and determined will of our members, the PDM has a common vision of hope; the hope that the Nigerian State can still be developed into a modern nation; a nation that will posses real capability to harness her natural resources for the upliftment of the welfare of her people; a nation that will be just, peaceful and politically stable; a nation which will be capable of defending her interests anywhere and everywhere and command international respect; a nation in which all citizens will have the opportunity to lead useful and satisfactory lives,” it added.
Ibrahim, while further highlighting the mission statement of the PDM, voiced the readiness of the party to pursue a set of objectives that will guarantee the following:
“That economic and political power are genuinely democratized through political grassroots participation in the structures and organization of power. In other words, sovereignty, in all its ramifications, belongs to the people alone;
“That leadership will be sought through a rational arrangement which will be informed by the common good and sustained by the popular will of the people;
“That leaders must live by example through personal integrity, honesty, sincerity and commitment to fair play in the service of the people;
“That a new political order is established which will compel the leadership to always balance power and authority with service and accountability. The system will thus guarantee social justice, equality of opportunities, national loyalty and patriotism;
“That all economic policies are directed towards national self-reliance which is the cornerstone of genuine development and nation-building;
“That all efforts will be made to stamp out all anti social behavior such as corruption, terrorism, indiscipline, lack of national commitment and avarice”.
The INEC had on Friday announced the registration of two new political parties; the Independent Democrats and the Peoples Democratic Movement, a party that is being linked to Atiku Abubakar in a statement by the National Secretary of the commission, Mrs. Augusta Ogakwu.
Last Thursday, Atiku had said that his associates were involved in the registration of the PDM, following reports that he and his men had applied for the registration of the PDM because he was sidelined in the Peoples Democratic Party.
